Like most other religions we too have a special way of getting married.
This is not excatly how the wedding has to be set up or performed its just something
to go by.
Set Up of the Ceremony
It would be a small wedding with just close relatives and friends.
The actual participants would be formally dressed while the guests could be
semi formal or wear what was comfortable. The wedding should take place outside.
There would be a maid of honor, a best man, 3 grooms men, and bride's maids.
The ring would be on a pillow on the alter. The bride would be lead to the circle
by the father and enter with the groom who will be waiting on the outside of
the circle. Usually the colors are dark but its up to the couple what color
scheme they want. The reception will be held there with music and everything
will already be set up before the ceremony and covered until after.
The honeymoon should be in a place where there is plenty of nature to observe
recreation and relaxation.
The Actual Ceremony
The Circle in which the couple will be married is cleansed. Two people
who are strongly intuned with the couple and welcoming of all guests walk the circle
clockwise with salt and water forming it. Then the calling of quarters by Pagan or
Pagan friendly guests, (East, South, West, North, Center). Then the circle is cast.
The guests including parents, brides' maids and grooms men form a circle on the one that
was made. The other guests watch on the outside of the circle. The maid of honor
and best man light the candles. They each light one. They both light the center
candle which is right behind the unity candle. Then the priest or priestess invoke
the God and Goddess ( to be present not a full invocation) The couple enters the
circle through a passageway made in the northeast part of the circle. The preist
(priestess) then closes the circle and invokes the Deity in a married couple in inner
circle. (Sermon) Hits on points of relationships, love and marriage. Couple recites vows with hands
tied with a cord to symbolize their unity and lights unity candle. Then the priest(preistess) blesses
the couple, guests and clergy. Opening of the circle ( counter clockwise). Reciting
"The circle is open and yet unbroken, merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again.",
couple jumps the broom. End of Ceremony.
